World's Leading Specialist in Critical Process Equipment

Christof Group spearheads the world market in the construction of critical process equipment with five high-end production facilities and an export ratio of more than 95%.
Over 100 years' worth of experience spurs us on to innovate smart equipment solutions for tomorrow’s industrial plants. We ensure their regular heartbeat – even when we are challenged to repair the unrepairable. We understand the technical complexities because we have decades of expertise and an intimate knowledge of process technologies and materials.

Our high-quality equipment sets the pace for the fertilizer, chemical and petrochemical industries. When it comes to highly corrosive and critical media, we are known to be passionate about giving our equipment the right treatment. We focus on the specifics to make sure our clients get the most out of their processes – be it in the production of reactors, heat exchangers, concentrated nitric acid storage equipment, high-quality pressure vessels, special valves and piping or critical melamine equipment.

Production plant companies in China, Russia, India, the Middle East or USA, value our quality workmanship and superior services just as much as our troubleshooter skills. This, and a track record of about 3,500 international projects, has earned us international recognition and several awards as an Austrian Leading Company.

Our four specialized operations ACE, ACE Metalna, APB and SBN act in sync, from detail engineering, precision machining the big stuff, through to complex on-site assemblies and challenging in-situ repairs. Our teams warrant reliable, safe and eco-friendly solutions. Solutions which meet and exceed the highest international quality standards at the heart of every plant. Solutions our clients can trust.

“We want to gain and maintain the trust of our clients – with even better quality, new technologies and new special materials. Our goal is to extend the lifespan of critical process equipment, boost process efficiency and limit downtimes in our clients’ plants.”
Stefan Christof, Chairman of the Board of Directors/CEO

From One-Man Business to World Market Leader

Then and now, we are driven by the passion to count among the best in the world.

Then
Dedication, hard work and the courage to strike new paths in complex welding technologies. That is how Johann Christof Senior laid the Christof Group foundation back in 1966. Fifty years later, the former one-man business had become a renowned global player. Consistent quality, reliability and a solutions-oriented approach coupled with steady growth through numerous acquisitions and some 3,500 projects earned Christof Group a solid reputation.
Turnaround
Yet, changing market dynamics and a significant downturn in the global fertilizer market at the end of 2014 – one of Christof Group’s key industry segments and one the fastest growing markets in the world took until early 2018 to recover – required the broad-based group of companies to redirect its strategic focus.

Following a shift in the share structure in 2015, the industrial services branch in Romania was carved out. At the same time, Stefan Christof took over as CEO. Together with the leadership team, he devised a future-proof concept to realign the company as a quality-driven specialist. Based on Christof Group’s core business and unmatched engineering skills, the focus was shifted towards the production of high-end critical process equipment at the helm of the world market. New and smart solutions at the heart of tomorrow’s industrial plants should boost process efficiency, lower the environmental footprint and downtimes and extend the lifespan of plants and their equipment. With this clear goal in sight, an intimate knowledge of industrial processes, proven technological expertise and precision workmanship, Christof Group seized new market opportunities.
Now
In 2017, J. Christof GmbH, together with all industrial services companies, was carved out and established as a new group of companies. In 2019, the entire Electrical Instrumentation and Control division followed suit during the second phase of the carve-out process.

The Group kicked off 2019 with full order books and an export ratio of more than 95%. With its four prestigious operations ACE, ACE Metalna, APB and SBN, five high-end production facilities and being known for repairing the unrepairable, Christof Group advances future-proof and best-in-class solutions which gain and maintain the trust of clients and business partners all over the world.

“As a specialist metal worker, welding techniques have always inspired and fascinated me. Complex flange machining and isometrics spurred me on to count among the best while working on site, wearing my blue overalls. I earned the trust of my customers through quality workmanship, honesty and respect. My mission was to lead my team by example and inspire each one with my enthusiasm for this profession.”
Johann Christof Senior, Chairman of the Supervisory Board

“Our aim is to fabricate the most durable critical process equipment. Therefore, we will continuously deepen our skills and knowledge and tap into the unused potential of innovative highly resistant materials and novel production techniques.”
Stefan Christof, Chairman of the Board of Directors/CEO

trust in solutions

Our vision is our mission. It is also a promise we make and keep: we think outside the box, pool our technological expertise and knowledge of highly resistant materials for critical media to serve our clients’ individual needs with speed, quality and reliability – whether we engineer new equipment, repair the old one or tackle a revamp.

Our goal is to go beyond that by fabricating the most durable critical process equipment for our clients. To achieve this, we will tap into the unused potential of innovative highly resistant materials and novel production techniques. We will deepen our skills and knowledge in the polymer, oil and gas sectors as well as in urea and ammonia synthesis. To do so, we will put more focus on research and development, collaborate with leading technology providers and undertake only those acquisitions that best complement our endeavours.

We want to install new and smart solutions at the heart of tomorrow’s industrial plants. Solutions which reduce complexities and costs, minimize risks, provide long-term investment security and maximize plant productivity. Solutions which go beyond quality. This is what we understand as solutions our clients can trust.
